What could more American on the Fourth of July than a good ol' knock out, drag down slot car race? Thanks to Monte and Victoria that's exactly what we did and had hot dawgs and hanburgers too! As always a good time was had by all including those dressed as elephants. The highlight of the day was Monte grabbing a weapon and sprinting, yes I said sprinting, to the back yard. What caused such a turmoil? Why the mere mention of a Blue Heron in the Koi pond of course.
Thanks again

Nothing more American that yielding your weapon and killing something!!!!
Did you have to cut it in half to fit it on the BBQ?
Taste anything like chicken?????

If he had caught it, no doubt he would have grilled it, that is if he could have killed it....with a BROOM!

So there we were in the middle of the first heat when I over-cooked a corner and came off. And then I did it again... I spent the rest of the heat trying to catch AJ. Lap after lap I closed the gap until I finally caught him on the final turn on the final lap headed for the lap counter. I had him... victory was within reach... then he smacked me into the wall and that was that. The rest of the day saw Rico racking up heat victories like a man possessed. Going into the final heat I had one more chance to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. But I was in the outside lane, AJ had the middle lane and it was not to be. Taking the heat victory and a tie for top honors of the day with the cherry-picking Rico was AJ. We'll get 'em next time.
Rico now takes the lead in the hotly contested Fly Classics Lifetime Points Standings.
Here's the official totals:
Rico Locati: 26
AJ Locati: 26
Monte: 24
Dennis Hart: 22
Victoria: 17
David Harburg: 16
Dominic Locati: 14
Kelly Locati: 6

He would've had to catch it first. I know I used the word sprint, but it's kind of relative.

You didn't hear it from me.

"...mere mention..." Hardly! Monte chased a three-foot tall Blue Heron out from under the netting we'd placed over and around the pond. All the big ones were still there. Might be missing a small goldfish or two.

Gold fish end up being nothing more than chum in a pond visited by the dastardly demon blue heron!
The only good blue herons are the plastic ones!
