Saturday August 19 is the Portland Adult Soap Box Derby Race.
NASTE is sponsoring 3 cars this year! The Scuderia Kouba shop has built 2 cars, and assisted with modifications to last year's entry The Hawksbill Flyer built by Dennis Hart.
The activities start at 9:00am and run until somewhere around 4:00pm.
Come on out and expect to have a great time! There are food and drink vendors on site.

RIBS 'N RACIN' You are invited to join Monte and Victoria for the sixth installment of their late-summer spectacular - Ribs 'n Racin' at Jacquelin Park. Come prepared to share good food, enjoy good company, experience exhilarating team racing, and just generally have a good time. And be sure to come hungry.
Chef Monte has some cookin' to do! He plans to serve up a stylish feast in the best of traditions. Please bring a side dish, dessert or beverage to share.
Four teams (or more) will be formed to compete in a four-hour digital enduro. Prior experience not required. Cars and controllers provided. Prizes for winning team members!
We'll have Mario Cart Wii set up. And Upwords!
Fun for all ages. Well mannered children and pets welcome.
Schedule 11:30 a.m. - Doors open, track opens for practice, team signup opens 12 noon - Lunch, team signup closes 12:30 p.m. - Teams announced, rules discussed, team colors donned, team strategies planned, knives sharpened 1:00 p.m. - Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines! 3:15 p.m. - Afternoon snack break 3:30 p.m. - Racing resumes 5:30 p.m. - Racing concludes, grazing, analog track open 6:00 p.m. - Awards

Rules are simple; your race car must be able to negotiate the 1/24 Rapid Raceway circuit without blocking cars in others lanes in the straight sections of the track. In other words don't make it too wide! In addition the maximum car height due to overpass clearance is 3 1/2 inches. So, build 'em, bring 'em, and race 'em!
